It's all in the pear and today, I will focus on four different pear types;

Anjou - sweet with a splash of lemon-lime, perfect for baking, salads and snacking.

Bosc - woodsy with honey sweetness, excellent for baking, broiling, poaching, snacking.

Concord- sweet with a vanilla flavor, great for snacking, roasting and cheese pairing.

Seckel - super sweet, perfect for baking, snacking, salad and canning.

Pears are sodium, cholesterol, and fat free and naturally hydrating. One pear can have as much as 6 grams of fiber, that's more than an apple or banana. Then there are the additional benefits of potassium and vitamin C. It is paradise to pair with pears. https://www.usapears.org/pear-nutrition/

Ingredients:

2 Bosc pears cut in 1/2 lengthwise (I used only 3 of the 4 pieces, my pears were very big)

1 tsp oil

1 Tsp sugar

1/2 lime squeezed

dash of cinnamon

3 small scoops of frozen vanilla yogurt or ice cream

pecan pieces to top

Steps:

  1. Heat oil in skillet

  2. Add sugar and stir until dissolved and turning light brown.

  3. Add lime juice and pears, keep cooking until bottom of pears have browned.

  4. Top with a dash of cinnamon, frozen yogurt and pecan pieces.

Two delightful servings .....................Enjoy
