The holidays can bring out the best in us. I will focus on my best cookie baking lesson with the grandkids. We tried to make gingerbread cookies but they did not have that distinct flavor, regardless, all the cookies are gone and Santa has not visited yet. The secret to success was in that order of; measuring, mixing, rolling out dough, cutting shapes, baking, decorating and finally eating. It was a real treat and a boatload of fun. Nobody noticed that molasses were missing. Use my Biscochito recipe for cut out cookies, substitute alcohol and anise liquid flavor with pancake syrup.

Find a calm place to visit during the holiday stress. Spending the season in London, I visited Japanese Garden, located in Holland Park. If you prefer a more lively area and lots of shopping, go to Covent Garden in Westminster. Donations are highly encouraged when making videos of the artists at Covent Garden.
